Building Tomorrow Academies
each BT academy has 7 classrooms, an office, a library, toilets, a soccer field and learning space for 325 students in P1 – P7
Our academies are the heart and soul of our work and are only made possible by the efforts of countless individuals, families and communities around the world. In essence, Building Tomorrow’s US operations exist solely as a support network to provide our partner communities in East Africa with the resources they need to help themselves.
The financial support of Building Tomorrow’s donor communities is matched by a donation of land and labor at each academy site. Community leaders serve on an organizing committee; overseeing construction and, ultimately, management of their academy. To date, communities have donated over 35 acres of land and 200,000 hours of volunteer labor. And every day, a community of dedicated teachers, funded by the Ugandan Ministry of Education, and parents and local leaders serving on the School Management Committees work to keep the academies operating.
