Celebrate BT!
“Each time we see the new school, we think of the old timber school and how far we have come.”
It all began with a promise to Noelina Namukisa, the headmaster of Meeting Point Kampala in 2004. The promise was simple—turn her failing timber school into one that can safely house over 400 students.
And oh how far we’ve come.
Since officially launching Building Tomorrow in 2006, our growing network of supporters has helped open the doors to over 50 new classrooms at seven sites throughout Uganda. Around 1,500 students awoke this morning with a BT classroom to call their own, a number we project to double by this time next year.
On Friday, October 28, we invite you to join the Building Tomorrow family as we ‘Celebrate BT!’ on our 5th birthday. We’ll kick the night off at 7pm at the ArtsGarden with cocktails followed by dinner catered by the Conrad Hotel, and a special video message from BT’s Honorary Chairman, Archbishop Desmond Tutu. We’ll round off the evening with birthday cake, live music and even a little dancing. Of course we’ll also celebrate our major milestones and give you the chance to continue your support as we share our new five-year commitment unveiled last month at the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting in New York City.
Tickets are $100 and seats are limited. Please contact Liz Braden (317-632-3545) to reserve yours. We look forward to celebrating with you!
A few notes for attendees – Please enter through the Conrad and join us in your cocktail attire. Thanks!
