#BTweetathon

If you follow us on twitter, maybe you’ve heard a little bit about today’s #BTweetathon. Here at Building Tomorrow, we’re serious about the cause for education and are dedicated to doing what it takes, whatever it takes, to ensure that one day every child has access to a safe and local school. So we’ll be tweeting all day, from 9a.m. to 9p.m. about our cause, and more specifically about a video that our interns created.

The video is a fantastic—we promise we’re not biased—cover of Salt-N-Pepa’s “Shoop”; a rap about why more people should get involved and help us build schools in Uganda. We chose this song because it happens to be a favorite of the great Ellen Degeneres, and we are using this video as a way to reach her and hopefully her nationwide audience as well!

Response to the video so far has been really encouraging, with endorsements from do-good blogs such as Tonic and 365give.Their support inspired us to recruit our own network to make a final push to gain Ellen’s attention. Through this tweetathon, we hope to generate buzz around the video, and get people talking about & interested in Building Tomorrow.

To join the conversation you can search for #BTweetathon all day long. Please help us by tweeting at Ellen Degeneres (@TheEllenShow) and your followers about Building Tomorrow.

We’ve made it simple for you. You can just copy and paste one of these tweets (all under 140 characters) to show your support.
