NEW! Construction is underway on BT's 1st academy in Uganda's Kalungu District!
AUGUST 2012 – Today, through your generosity, we are excited to announce that One Day’s Wages and Building Tomorrow have completed a campaign that will enable us to build our 15th Building Tomorrow Academy in Uganda, providing 325 kids with a desk to sit in, a chalkboard to learn from and a community’s first permanently-built place of learning. Moreover, it will be built through over 20,000 hours of donated labor and on land gifted specifically for the purpose of building a primary-level school.
APRIL 2013 – At a commitment-signing ceremony in Kalungu District, Uganda – home to BT’s 15th academy, supported by One Day’s Wages – parents from surrounding villages made a public commitment to support the development of their area and the education of their children.
MAY 2013 – Armed with a finalized set of blueprints, a foreman and team of skilled masons, and one of BT’s Community Development Officers, parents and community members in the village of Mabaale in Kalungu District, Uganda, officially broke ground on what will come to be known as their very own Building Tomorrow Academy of Mabaale.
