create a fundraising page »
Have a birthday coming up? “Donate” it to BT. Planning an event? Fundraise online. Thinking of doing a letter writing campaign? Host it online, instead. OR! Simply create a page and invite our family & friends to support a cause you believe in.
how far would you walk for an education?
Many students your age in sub-Saharan Africa walk as many as 6 miles to school every day…and sometimes further. Plan a walk-a-thon for education in your gym or around the track at your school and ask everyone “How far would you walk for an education?”
school-building competition »
Think physics class…but building schools instead of bridges! Charge a registration fee, set some rules & give each entering team one of two sets of resources representing either the US or Uganda. Give the “US” teams 50 times the amount of resources you give the Ugandan teams. Luck of the draw! Recruit teachers as judges. Winning team gets a prize!
turn off the music!
Ask your classmates & friends what they think the most annoying song on the radio is…and get permission from your school to play that song in the halls on repeat in-between class periods…over and over and over again. Post signs and tell everyone that the music will only stop once you’ve reached your fundraising goal! A high school in southern Indiana did this and raised $800 by playing Justin Bieber’s song…in less than two days!
organize a letter writing campaign
Have your friends, classmates & fellow Key Clubbers personalize this letter and send it, along with this photo, to at least 10 friends and family members. A very easy way to raise a lot of money!
dress down for bt
Get your entire school on board and pick a day where students can ignore the dress-code if they are willing to donate $1 to BT!
empty your pockets—make change
Organize a competition & put collection jars in every classroom at your school: silver coins deduct & pennies add up! Set a school-wide goal, too. If every student at your school donated $1 in change, how much would you raise?
