Literacy and numeracy for all children.
Education powered by local communities
Building Tomorrow is a community-powered organization that harnesses the potential of local change-makers to connect learners across rural Uganda with transformational education programs.
Our innovative at-home and community-based literacy and numeracy initiatives are improving student learning outcomes amid the education crisis that has resulted from the longest continuous COVID-19 school closure in the world.
Where we work
We provide training, resources, and support to community members in districts across Uganda.
They serve learners in some of the most remote villages in the country, where many families lack access to smartphones and stable internet connection. Our virtual and at-home learning programs provided the only formal education these families had access to for the duration of Uganda’s nearly two-year school closure.
Our holistic model of community-based change provides a sustainable solution to education inequality in Uganda.

Community Education Volunteers
“Right now we are in a crisis: for almost two years, our children were out of the classroom. This unprecedented problem needs the collective effort of government and partners like Building Tomorrow to ensure that communities can be mobilized and engaged in the education process.”
Rubega Michael, government official in Kassanda, Uganda
Since our founding in 2006, our programs have provided crucial educational programming to thousands of learners in Uganda.
